If you want to make the most of your digital marketing campaigns, landing pages are a must. By linking to a custom page that was designed specifically for your campaign (as opposed to just your homepage or a general product detail page), you’ll be able to speak directly to the audience you’re targeting. In turn, this will help you reach a higher conversion rate and generate more revenue from your campaign.
Using a blog-style format is the best approach for many landing pages.
For example, let’s say you’re running a banner ad campaign — in that case, you won’t have much room in the ad itself to provide much information. On the other hand, a blog post hosted on your site would give you the opportunity to add as much content as you want about your product, promotional offer, etc.
In other words, an eye-catching tagline can capture a prospect’s interest and convince them to click through to your site, and then you can use a lengthier blog post to provide all the supporting details that may be needed to successfully convert the visitor.
In this guide, we’ll go over absolutely everything that you need to know to create your own high-converting Shopify blog landing page.

Creating a Blog Landing Page with Shogun
When designing a Shopify blog landing page, you should always keep the following three things in mind:
Accessibility: To accommodate visually impaired visitors, make your font size relatively large with a decent amount of contrast between the font color and the background color. And for those who have trouble navigating websites, it helps to make clickable elements such as your CTA buttons relatively large and spaced apart from other elements on the page.
Readability: Even if a visitor is able to read your content, there’s no guarantee that they will choose to do so — and if your blog post looks like the back of a shampoo bottle, it’s especially unlikely that they will stick around to hear what you have to say. Indeed, this “wall of text” look should be avoided at all costs. Instead, you can help the visitor concentrate on your content by using short paragraphs, bulleted lists, and any other writing techniques that will add more white space to the page.
Optimization: Images can help make your blog post more visually interesting and support the points in your text, but the large file size of images may drag down the performance of your site. If your landing page takes a long time to load, many visitors will back out before you even get a chance to convert them. But you can minimize the performance impact of images by making sure not to use an excessive resolution and converting JPG and PNG images into the WEBP file format.
To implement these design principles and create your landing page in Shogun, simply follow these steps:
After downloading and installing Shogun, select the “Apps” option in the left sidebar of the Shopify control panel.
Open Shogun.
Go to the “Pages” section of the Shogun app and hover your cursor over “Build or edit a page” — your options here include “Start from scratch”, “Import a page”, and “Browse our templates” (Shogun currently offers eight different pre-made templates for new blog posts).
Whichever option you choose, you will then be directed to Shogun’s visual editor, which includes all the design tools you need to create a custom landing page.
Once you’ve finished making your edits, save your changes and publish the page.
The visual editor also offers another tool, Shogun Insights, that you can use to check for any accessibility, performance, or SEO issues — for example, Shogun Insights will flag if 60% or more of your page text has a font size smaller than 12 px. And whenever something is flagged, Shogun Insights can direct you straight to the exact settings option that needs to be adjusted in order to correct the issue.
Saving a Blog Landing Page as a Template
Once you’ve created a blog page that matches your branding and meets your standards, there’s a good chance that you’ll want to continue to use this same design for future blog posts.
In that case, you can save time in Shogun by saving your created blog page as a reusable template:
Go to the “Pages” section of the Shogun app and select the blog post that you want to turn into a template.
Once you have the blog post open in Shogun’s visual editor, open the dropdown menu located in the top-right corner of your screen.
Select “Save as template”.
Give the template a name and select “Save template” — for future posts, all of the design choices will already be set up for you, and you’ll just need to plug in the text and images for your specific blog post.
To access your new template, go back to the “Pages” section of the Shogun app, hover your mouse over the “Build or edit a page” option, and select “Browse our templates”. You’ll see your newly created template listed under the “Your templates” tab.
Adding Products to Blog Landing Pages in Shopify to Drive Sales
Shogun also makes it easy to insert product boxes into your posts. This will allow the reader to review key product details and add items to their cart directly from your blog landing page, leading to even more sales:
Go to the “Pages” section of the Shogun app and select the blog post you would like to add a product box to.
Once the post is open in Shogun’s visual editor, click on the “Elements” icon in the left sidebar.
Scroll down to the “Shopify” section — these elements are automatically populated with data from your Shopify account, so there’s no need to fill in these details yourself. Click and hold on the “Product Box” element and place it wherever you want your Product Box to be located on the page.
Select the product in your Shopify catalog that will be featured in the Product Box.
The Shopify section of the element library includes options for your product’s title, description, image, price, and reviews. Again, this information will be populated automatically based on your Shopify account data. And there’s an option for an Add to Cart button as well. To add any of these elements, just drag it from the element library into the Product Box.
Once you’ve finished designing your Product Box, save your changes and publish the page.
Overall, Shogun gives you everything you need to design the perfect Shopify blog landing page.
